Anna Maher - Director

Hi, I’m Anna, and I have been the builder and owner of AMR since 2009. I was brought up in a small mining village and from an early age I loved forming close friendships and networks and I was a well known face in the community, always bringing people together and bringing out the best in people.

I went to High Wycombe at 18 and graduated with a 2:2 in International Business Studies with French, living in both Paris and Madrid. It was my first boss in an Accounts Department who told me that ‘accounts wasn’t for me’ and asked me if I had considered a career in recruitment where I could ‘talk and network all day.’ In 1995, after acquiring some tele-sales experience, I landed my dream job as a Trainee Commercial Recruitment Consultant, working for Sheffield’s leading recruitment agency at the time, Protemp (now GI Group). I had a natural flair and ability for sales, winning major key accounts with some of Sheffield’s leading business brands. I had the busiest fast paced temp desk in the City and through my own success I was given the role of Branch Manager. During my time at Pro-temp, I was always being head hunted by London Rec2Rec head hunters for jobs within the Sheffield region. The recruiters were faceless with no real personal knowledge of me and my achievements and this made me realise that their was a gap in the market for a local Rec2Rec specialist. In 2009, I set up Anna Maher Recruitment, specialising in Rec2Rec and Business Support. With my wealth of experience in commercial recruitment and my large network of contacts, the business has blossomed.

I have been forging relationships for over 28 years and I have built long standing partnerships with a wide range of reputable brands from large companies to boutique style operations. I am a people’s person in a people industry and many of my clients and candidates are also now people that I would call friends.

My favourite part of the job is telling candidates that they have been successful and changing their future careers in a positive way and then ringing my client to tell them that they have a new employee!

I love recruitment – it’s in my blood. From the thrill of the chase when winning business to finding candidates their ideal job, I am still a hands on recruiter and I will never steer away from that.

When I am not networking, you will find me juicing, at the gym and later enjoying a large glass of wine with family and friends whilst planning my next holiday!



Rachel Keeton - Office Support / Marketing Co-ordinator/Talent Spotter

I am a down to earth Yorkshire girl with a great Northern sense of humour and a love for people and creativity. I returned to my roots after six years in Sydney between 2000 and 2006. I have a warm and natural empathy for others and love to listen to people’s stories whilst nurturing, supporting and guiding them through their journey. I love to organise things and if there isn’t a ‘list’ or ‘spreadsheet’ within a 1 metre radius I start to feel uneasy!

I have worked in the TV Industry as a Production Coordinator and at a prestigious University as an Employability Officer, developing my passion for getting things off the ground whilst helping others to reach their goals. I have been involved in managing large projects, organising big events, overseeing complex marketing campaigns and working with students to facilitate the enhancement of their career journey.

I have now joined forces with my Aunty’s recruitment business to apply my creative mind, talents and years of experience to Anna’s unique boutique recruitment service. With my love of organising and marketing, my aim is to enhance the delivery of a quality AMR experience. Having been an administrator, PA, Coordinator and Manager for many years, I understand what an employer needs when talent spotting for the most competent, efficient and resourceful employees.

I am very creative and love making jewellery, playing music, baking cakes (that often flop!). I am also a proud Mother of two gorgeous boys, Lawrence and Louis, and I can often be found chasing them around Sheffield parks and then rewarding myself with nice food and a glass of wine whilst listening to music and dreaming of holidays by the sea!
