I'm delighted to be working with a growing marketing consultancy that's looking to recruit a talented Content Marketing Executive (SEO) to join its ambitious and collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining creativity with commercial thinking and wants to play a key role in helping businesses grow through strategic content and search marketing.

Working with a diverse portfolio of SMEs and owner-managed businesses, you'll be responsible for developing SEO strategies, creating high-quality content and identifying opportunities that improve online visibility, generate enquiries and deliver measurable results.

This is much more than a content writing role. My client is looking for someone who enjoys thinking strategically, analysing performance, making recommendations and becoming a trusted adviser to both clients and colleagues.

The Role

You'll work closely with senior team members and clients to develop and deliver SEO and content strategies that support wider business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

SEO & Search Strategy:

  • Carrying out keyword, competitor and search intent research.

  • Developing SEO strategies across a portfolio of client accounts.

  • Creating and managing SEO roadmaps aligned with commercial objectives.

  • Identifying growth opportunities through market analysis and search trends.

  • Optimising website content to improve rankings, traffic and lead generation.

  • Implementing on-page SEO best practices including metadata, internal linking and content structure.

  • Supporting technical SEO improvements alongside development teams.

  • Monitoring performance through Google Analytics, Google Search Console and industry-leading SEO platforms.

  • Keeping up to date with developments in AI search, Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).

Content Marketing:

  • Planning, writing and optimising blogs, website content, landing pages, case studies and guides.

  • Producing engaging content that supports both search performance and business growth.

  • Developing content plans aligned with client objectives and marketing strategies.

  • Repurposing content across multiple channels to maximise visibility and engagement.

  • Ensuring all content follows SEO best practice and EEAT principles.

  • Identifying new content opportunities through research, insight and customer behaviour.

Website & Digital Content:

  • Managing and updating WordPress websites.

  • Uploading and optimising content.

  • Supporting website launches with SEO built in from the outset.

  • Recommending improvements to website structure, user journeys and on-site experience.

  • Working alongside designers and developers to improve website performance.

Reporting & Client Communication:

  • Producing monthly SEO reports and performance updates.

  • Analysing traffic, rankings, engagement and conversions.

  • Turning data into practical recommendations and future strategy.

  • Presenting findings and opportunities to clients in a clear and commercially focused way.

  • Supporting client meetings and wider strategic discussions.

About You

You'll already have experience within an SEO, Content Marketing or Digital Marketing role and will be comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.

You'll also have:

  • Proven experience delivering SEO campaigns and content strategies.

  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills.

  • A strong understanding of on-page SEO principles.

  • Good technical SEO knowledge, including indexing, site structure and schema concepts.

  • Experience using WordPress.

  • Experience using Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.

  • Experience using SEO platforms such as SEMrush, Ahrefs or SE Ranking.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • The confidence to build relationships with clients and explain technical concepts clearly.

  • A proactive approach and genuine curiosity about digital marketing and search.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing Google Ads campaigns.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Ads.

  • Experience using Looker Studio.

  • Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.

  • Experience using AI tools to support content creation and research.

  • An understanding of CRO and UX principles.

  • Previous agency or consultancy experience.
