Anna Maher Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Sheffield-based manufacturing business to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving manufacturing challenges and making a real difference on the shop floor.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Manufacturing Team Leader, you will play a key role in improving production processes, supporting new product introduction and driving continuous improvement throughout the business.

This role would suit someone from a precision engineering, CNC machining, manufacturing or process engineering background who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with practical shop floor support.

About the Role

As Manufacturing Engineer - Continuous Improvement, you will bridge the gap between engineering and production, helping to improve efficiency, quality and consistency across the manufacturing operation.

You will be involved in a variety of projects including process optimisation, tooling and fixture design, CAD/CAM support, lean improvement activities and providing technical guidance to production teams.

The role offers excellent variety, with involvement across CNC machining, grinding, laser profiling, EDM, heat treatment and specialist manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the introduction of new products into manufacture.

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and quality.

• Provide hands-on technical support to production teams.

• Design and implement tooling, fixtures and work-holding solutions.

• Use CAD/CAM software to support product development and manufacturing improvements.

• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste and improving productivity.

• Analyse production data, identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.

• Develop standard operating procedures and improve manufacturing consistency.

• Support lean manufacturing activities including process flow improvements, SMED and 5S.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer or similar role.

• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes within a machining or precision engineering environment.

• Practical experience with CNC machining and manufacturing improvement projects.

• Experience with CAD/CAM systems and manufacturing design.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.

• A practical, problem-solving approach with the confidence to work directly with production teams.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the business.
