My client’s ideas and creativity, together with their digital capabilities, have enabled them to utilise web technologies for many different sectors. They offer a variety of services including web design, CRM systems, ECommere, sharepoint development and other digital solutions.  They are committed to their customers and partners and have a passion for technology and big challenges.

My client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced customer facing UX web designer to join this friendly and supportive team and help them to tender for and deliver industry-leading projects.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can deliver intuitive designs for websites, web apps and portals which are based on a strong understanding of user needs. Someone who understands that the user journey is just as important as striking visuals and can confidently justify their design thinking.

You will also be able to present your UX solution and ideas both visually and verbally to clients, show how your understanding of users needs are met and how this supports the Client mission and long-term digital strategy.

Responsibilities and key duties: 

• UX/ UI Design and Presentation 

• Understanding Client requirements and how they fit into the big picture 
• Developing compelling user journeys and stories including the theory and rationale behind it 
• Presenting ideas and solutions verbally and visually to Clients and Prospects 
• Creating user-friendly, responsive designs across different devices 
• Crafting and applying visually impressive designs based on brand guidelines 

• Project Delivery 

• Managing and implementing client feedback on designs 
• Supporting the development team in bringing your designs to life 
• Liaising directly with clients on all things design-related 

What you’ll need: 

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in designing for web 
• Strong understanding of web design principles and user experience and design 
• Proficient in Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator as design tools 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Experience working within CMS platform capabilities (Umbraco would be ideal) 
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and manage your time effectively 
• A down to earth, creative team player 

You may be a freelancer or business owner who is now looking to make a move back a more stable and supportive environment. 

We would like to see a range of portfolio examples which showcase your digital design skills on real-world projects. 

The role is: 

• Part time, 3 days per week 
• 1 year contract with possibility to become permanent 
• Salary £25 to £35k pro-rata 
• Based in Sheffield in the office with plenty of on-site parking and close to public transport and the buzzing hub of Kelham Island.
