Backend Web Developer

We are working on behalf of a well-established and innovative technology business based in Sheffield, who are looking to expand their development team with the addition of a talented Backend Web Developer. The role is full time in the office in Sheffield South Yorkshire.

The Opportunity

As a Backend Web Developer, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing a broad range of websites, portals, and digital applications. You’ll work with modern tools and frameworks in a collaborative, team-focused environment that values quality, continuous learning, and technical curiosity.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain websites, portals, and web-based applications
Build new solutions using: 

• Umbraco CMS
•  .NET / .NET Core
• SQL Server 

Integrate with external APIs and develop efficient, scalable backend logic
Write and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, user-friendly solutions
Provide technical support and share knowledge across the development team

About You

At least 2 years’ experience in backend web development
Strong skills in three or more of the following:

• .NET (or .NET Core) development
• Backend development using non-.NET technologies
• API integration
• SQL Server and T-SQL
• Git or similar version control tools

Problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work across departments
A proactive approach to learning and resolving technical challenges
