This is a hands-on, autonomous role, ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys credit control, is confident managing their own workload, and takes pride in doing things properly.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the sales ledger, including:
- Managing and maintaining the sales ledger
- Allocating cash accurately
- Setting up and monitoring payment plans
- Reducing aged debt balances through proactive and effective credit control
- Acting as a key point of contact for internal staff regarding statements and account activity
- Resolving invoice queries using root-cause analysis
- Communicating professionally with clients by phone and email
- Continuously improving debt collection processes to ensure timely payments and positive client relationships
About You
This role would suit someone who is organised, positive, and confident working independently. You’ll ideally have:
- Proven credit control experience
- CICM qualification (or working towards) – desirable
- Knowledge of Sage 50 (preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Excellent communication skills and a people-focused approach
- Strong self-management skills, including diary management and follow-ups
- A positive, upbeat, “glass half full” attitude
